To all of Carl's and my family and friends. Thank you all for your calls, emails and cards of love, support and sympathy. He gave me love, happiness, peace and security. I will truely miss him. Know that he went peacefully and with dignity, in true Carl fashion. Carl had his body donated and did not want a funeral. Instead he wanted his family and friends to party on him. He also liked a good "Thunder Run" hence that is why we are asking all who wish to participate meet at the Justice Center (High Noon) for Carl's last Thunder Run. He loved loud pipes and horsepower! We will then proceed to the Black Cloud Saloon for a celebration. I hope you all come celebrate with us.

I am a bartender at the White Eagle Lounge. I want to say how sad I am by the loss of Carl. He was ALWAYS a job when he came in and entertained us all with his stories. We loved to see his truck pull in! A hurricane was out in the gulf and he worried that I didn't have a flashlight and to this day I keep the flashlight he gave me by the bed! My thoughts are with the family.

Thank you so much to everyone for keeping Dad in your thoughts and prayers. It really means so much to all of us.

Joan and family,

I am very sorry for your lost of truly outstanding gentlemen and one of my favorite people which I  had the pleasure to work with.  Carl and I got along famously as we both liked accurate work product,  fast cars and a party.  I admired his attitude toward life when he first found out about his health issues.  He will be missed by many.  I am sorry I will not be able to attend the celerbration Carl's like in person due to travel arrangements but he will be in my thoughts.

Carl you and your family are in my prayers, thanks for being who you are.

Friends--Carl's life story is fascinating by itself, and our sympathies go to all of Carl's family, and certainly to David and Katy!  Don't think I've ever read an obituary that left me SMILING, but Carl's final wishes and his "send off" at the Black Cloud Saloon force a smile!  Wish we could be there!

Dear Dave and Katy,

I had within the hour learned via the WHS Alumni Website that Carl passed away Wednesday.

I know from our prior exchanges he had not been well, and though I write with sorrow, I sense that Carl has had a heavy burden lifted.  May he rest in God's eternal peace and glory.  A life fully lived, without regret, and now, rest.

Claudia and I send our sympathy and fond remembrances,

John

Dave and Katy, so sorry to hear the passing of Carl.  I do remember as a kid, he beat me up, but thanks to football we became friends.

David: Hard to believe that it's been fifty years. But, I remember "hitching a ride" east with your mother, Carl and you. Although our lives have taken separate paths, I wanted to let you know how, to this day, I have memories of our excursion. I particularly enjoyed that brief time spent with Carl.

My condolences.

Best personal regards,

Paul Neuhoff

Carl was the man! Joannie was his salt of the earth as he put it and he said he was the pepper! What a match made by God! I truly believe in angels and firmly know that there is one more watching over us! Deepest sympathy to all family and friends! And most of all, Joannie!

  1. Leah, I learned of your father's passing when published in the Miami Herald this weekend. I have no idea where in the world you are, otherwise I would have sent a card rather than this impersonal "post." I send you and your family my deepest condolences. Alex Dombrowsky
